Client Configuration Access Code

Starting with client version 16.1 build 276 and later, Android clients will no longer have a configuration password. Clients will allow users to access the configuration options by default. The prior credentials can be reinstated to use esp, and, or your custom value using Client Settings from the Administrator.

Administrator versions 16.1 build 224 and older may require a 'Administrator Client Settings Update' to offer this new setting. Use this setting to turn the Access Code (password) back on.

Note that this setting is ignored if the access code is anything other than the default value. If you want to remove the prompt but the sys_pass value was changed, you'll want to change the code back to esp or and and add the secondary setting to disable the prompt.

If this setting does not appear in the Administrator, run the Administrator Client Settings Update from our downloads site. After running the update, the setting should appear in the search or pulldowns. If the prompt is re-enabled, setting the actual credentials value is done with another Client Setting. You can set this to the default values of esp or and if desired, but we highly recommend using a non-default value.

The client settings date in the Administrator should show a value more current than April 1st, 2025.
