<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nDevices connecting to a SmartTE Server that displays a screen with more than one smart menu objects will automatically generate a client menu option called SmartMenu. This will provide a OS style pop-up menu for all menu objects that are tap-able on the current screen. This allows screens with multiple small buttons to be presented in a large format scrolling list. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This feature requires StayLinked Server version 14.0 or higher and smart menu object configurations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Using screen recognition features on your server allows you to create an API that automatically presents the Smart Menu to the user. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
SmartTiles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Devices connecting to a v14.4 or newer StayLinked Server have the option\nto display SmartTiles. These tiles overlay the emulation space with\ncustomizable buttons or keyboards. Each tile set allows for multiple tiles,\npresented by the StayLinked server based on user inputs or screen recognition\nfeatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SmartTiles include the option to replace the standard Keyboard button on\nthe menu-bar with a SmartTiles button. This is commonly used to create custom\nkeyboards and context sensitive menu options without the need to adjust the\nemulation screens.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smart Keyboard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
StayLinked client version 14.3 and newer support a range of new keyboards and transparency options. The keyboards can be called using the [keyboard_xxxxxx] mnemonics described in the extended keys section or executed from the server using keyboard mapping or screen recognition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gestures<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n A single long press or press and hold will hide the StayLinked menu bar\nthat displays File, Host and About. <\/p>\n\n\n\n A two-finger tap will show and hide the keyboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A single finger swipe across the keyboard will slide to the next or last\nkeyboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Smart Keyboard options include\nthe following: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Keyboard Transparency: <\/strong>SmartTE keyboards support alpha levels. This sets how transparent the\nkeyboard is, which can allow the user to see the screen through the keyboard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Off \u2013 <\/strong>Disables\ntransparency allowing the keyboard to block the emulation screen behind it.\nThis is an alpha level of 100. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Low \u2013 <\/strong>Low\ntransparency is a slightly transparent keyboard. This is an alpha level of 80. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Medium \u2013 <\/strong>Medium\ntransparency is the mid-level transparent keyboard. This is an alpha level of\n60. <\/p>\n\n\n\n High \u2013 <\/strong>High\ntransparency shows more of the emulation space than the keyboard. This is an\nalpha level of 40. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Fade While Pressed: <\/strong>This\noption will dim the keyboard if pressed and held. The keyboard will return to\nthe normal transparency when released. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Keyboard Pan Cursor: <\/strong>This\noption will shift the display if the cursor is behind the on-screen keyboard.\nDisabling this option will leave the cursor behind the keyboard, which would\nstill be visible if the keyboard is at least partially transparent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Haptic Feedback: <\/strong>Not\nall devices support vibration options. If supported, the device will slightly\nvibrate for each keypress to help users know when a key has been entered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n QWERTY Keyboard Style: <\/strong>Select the default QWERTY keyboard style between the options; Disabled,\nStandard, Small, AZERTY, Full Screen, 4-Column Right, 4-Row Full, and 4-Column\nfull. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Number\/Symbol Keyboard Style: <\/strong>Select the default Number\/Symbol style\nbetween Standard and Azerty keyboard layouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Numpad Keyboard Style: <\/strong>Select the default Number Pad keyboard style between the options; Disabled, Full Screen, 2-Row, 3-Row, 2-Column Right, 5-Row and 3-Column Right. In addition to the Smart Keyboard options list above, the following standard options are available on most SmartTE devices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Some menu options, such as \u201cHost >\nConfigure\u201d require a password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The\ndefault password is \u201cesp<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can specify a new password for\nthe device by using the \u2018Client Settings\u2019 feature of the StayLinked\nAdministrator. Client Settings allows you to centrally manage many of the\ndevice-specific settings of the StayLinked Client software on the device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Client to Server Communications Security<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n StayLinked provides multiple possible levels of security for the transactions between the StayLinked client and server.
