TEKTERM for Android (SmartTEK) Troubleshooting

During the use of StayLinked SmartTEK (now known as TEKTERM for Android), your users may be presented with various error messages. These messages can provide information as to what options you want to review to resolve the issue. The most common errors relating to TEKTERM for Android (SmartTEK) are listed below.

Base Initializing

This error shows that the connection between the StayLinked Session and the Session has been broken. This creates a lock on the original Session. Return to the Host Server and terminate the associated Session. Note that this is often caused when two sessions are configured to use the same device ID.

No Keyboard Map

This error shows the TESS format keyboard missing. You can quickly add the keyboard map by opening the details display in the Administrator’s Connections List. Just double-click on the connection and select the ‘Add Keyboard Map’ option.

Your StayLinked Administrator can be updated with the latest list of keyboards by installing the ‘Administrator Keyboard Definition Update’ from the StayLinked downloads site. This updates the Administrator with the latest list, allowing you to install the best available keyboard map for your device. Older Administrator versions may need to be updated to a newer version in order to install the latest keyboard definition update.

LOCK-H

This error shows TESS preventing further input from the device. Usually a delay in further entry allows the host to finish processing the last transaction and the system will proceed. If this does not resolve itself with in a few moments, access to the TESS Host may be required to terminate the session.  Another cause might relate to Session Screen Size Settings, check that both the SmartTEK and TESS Screen sizes are synchronized.
