DataLogic Pre-Licensing

Server versions 16.1 and newer support Pre-Licensing of specific DataLogic co-branded products. Client version 16.1 build 278 or newer is also required.

• Pre-Licensed Devices – These Clients clearly display Pre-Licensed on the splash screen when loaded with compatible Client software.

This pre-licensed status applies to DataLogic Skorpio X5 devices with a manufacture date of May 1st, 2025 and newer. Devices manufactured before this date will not automatically allow pre-licensing, but you can obtain a courtesy license if the purchase date is June 1st 2025 or later.

To obtain a courtesy license, email datalogic@staylinked.com with the serial number of the device and the serial number presented in the StayLinked Administrator for your server installation. If the device is eligible, a key for that unit will be issued against your StayLinked Server.

Installations serving exclusively pre-licensed device models do not need a license installed on the server. Any server pre-loaded with a 'DemoMode' key will need to uninstall this demonstration key for use in production environments. Installing a courtesy license will prompt to remove the demomode key.
