Windows 10 'Windows Mobile Device Center' WMDC

To fix a Windows 10 machine that no longer can run WMDC please follow these steps. 

Step 1: Open a command prompt as an Administrator and copy paste these two registry edits:

REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RapiMgr /v SvcHostSplitDisable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WcesComm /v SvcHostSplitDisable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f 

Step 2: Open Windows Services
Step 3: Edit the service ‘Windows Mobile-2003-based device connectivity’.
Step 4: Go to the Recovery tab.
Step 5: Subsequent Failures set to Restart the Service.
Step 6: Edit the service ‘Windows Mobile-based device connectivity’.
Step 7: Go to the Recovery tab.
Step 8: Subsequent Failures set to Restart the Service
Step 9: Restart your computer.
Step 10: Begin working on your device.
